Our history
Massamba's Help ASBL was founded on 1 May 2010 in Belgium. The association was born from the conviction that homeless people or those in severe hardship deserve equitable access to legal and administrative information, regardless of their personal situation, origin or language.
Initially, the association's statutes mentioned aid for people and families in difficulty, as well as artistic and musical activities. Over the years, the association has specialised in legal orientation and administrative support — an area that meets a critical need in Belgian society.
Today, Massamba's Help ASBL serves as a first point of contact for people facing housing problems, social benefits issues, administrative document difficulties or legal proceedings. Our role is to listen, inform, clarify the situation and direct people to the right services — whether that is the CPAS (public social welfare centre), a lawyer, a mediation service or another support organisation.
We are not a law firm and we do not claim to represent people in court. Our strength lies in making a sometimes complex system accessible by offering a clear, human and tailored first response.
